Make easy, no-bake white chocolate cereal balls using basic pantry ingredients. These simple treats are perfect for quick snacks or parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 (10 ounce) package miniature marshmallows
  • 6 cups puffed rice cereal
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or candy melts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: Sprinkles or food coloring

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth. Remove the pan from the heat.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract. If you are adding food coloring, mix it in now.
  4. Add the puffed rice cereal to the marshmallow mixture. Fold gently until the cereal is evenly coated.
  5. Lightly grease your hands with butter or cooking spray. Scoop about 1.5 tablespoons of the mixture and roll it firmly into a ball shape. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. If you are using sprinkles, gently roll the warm balls in the sprinkles now, or press them onto the surface. Let the balls cool and set for about 30 minutes at room temperature, or speed this up by chilling them for 15 minutes.
  7. Melt the white chocolate wafers according to package directions, usually in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  8. Dip the cooled rice krispie balls halfway into the melted white chocolate, or drizzle the chocolate over the tops.
  9. Place the dipped balls back onto the parchment paper. If desired, add more sprinkles immediately before the chocolate sets.
  10. Allow the white chocolate coating to fully harden before serving or storing.

Notes

  • For easy shaping, lightly grease your hands with butter or non-stick spray before handling the warm cereal mixture.
  • If you want a thinner coating for dipping, stir 1 teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil into the melted white chocolate.
  • These **Gluten Free White Chocolate Treats** store well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
  • For a festive flavor, substitute peppermint extract for vanilla and top with crushed candy canes.
