Make this simple, indulgent peanut butter pretzel bark. It combines salty pretzels, creamy peanut butter, and rich chocolate for a perfect sweet and salty snack that requires no oven time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups small pretzel twists or pieces
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, letting the edges hang over the sides for easy removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well until you have a smooth, thick dough.
  3. Gently fold the pretzels into the peanut butter mixture until they are evenly coated.
  4. Press the peanut butter and pretzel mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan. This forms your base layer.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil, if using. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  6. Pour the melted chocolate evenly over the peanut butter layer in the pan. Spread it out to cover the entire surface.
  7. Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate is completely firm.
  8. Once set, lift the bark out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Break the bark into irregular pieces.
  9. Store the peanut butter pretzel bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • For a variation, substitute semi-sweet chocolate with milk chocolate or white chocolate chips.
  • If you prefer a thinner bark, use a 9×13 inch pan instead of an 8×8 inch pan.
  • You can sprinkle flaky sea salt over the melted chocolate layer before chilling for extra visual appeal and saltiness.
