You can make this rich, creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta in a single pot, minimizing cleanup for your weeknight dinner. This recipe delivers ultimate comfort food flavor using simple pantry staples.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound angel hair or spaghetti pasta
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the pasta, chicken broth, heavy cream, minced garlic, and butter into a large pot or Dutch oven.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to simmer, stirring often, for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until the pasta is cooked through and most of the liquid has been absorbed, creating a thick sauce.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the 1 1/2 cups of grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Taste the pasta and adjust salt and pepper if needed.
  6. Serve immediately in bowls, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese instead of pre-shredded.
  • If the sauce becomes too thick while simmering, add a splash more broth or cream until you reach your desired consistency.
  • This recipe works well with chicken broth for depth, but you can substitute vegetable broth for a vegetarian option.
