Make this rich, creamy garlic Parmesan pasta in one pot for quick cleanup. This recipe delivers comforting, cheesy flavor perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz linguine or angel hair pasta
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the pasta, chicken broth, minced garlic, butter, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) into a large pot or Dutch oven.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer, stirring often, until the pasta is cooked through and most of the liquid has been absorbed, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat. Stir in the heavy cream until fully combined.
  5. Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and velvety.
  6. Taste the pasta and add more salt or pepper if needed.
  7. Serve immediately, topping each portion with extra grated Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • You can add cooked, shredded chicken to make this a complete meal.
  • Use high-quality Parmesan cheese for the best flavor in your rich parmesan sauce.
