Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup pitted green olives, drained and finely chopped
1/2 cup pitted black olives, drained and finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of salt (optional, olives are salty)
Instructions
Place the softened cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl.
Add the chopped green olives, black olives, minced garlic, sour cream, lemon juice, olive oil, dried oregano, and black pepper to the bowl.
Use an electric mixer or a sturdy spoon to combine all ingredients until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
Taste the dip and add a small pinch of salt only if needed.
Transfer the olive dip to a serving bowl.
Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
Serve this dip cold with pita chips, sturdy crackers, fresh vegetable sticks, or toasted baguette slices.
You can make this dip ahead of time; it tastes best when chilled for several hours.
For a different texture, pulse the ingredients briefly in a food processor instead of mixing by hand.
