Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Toss the trimmed green beans with a light coating of olive oil, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet.
  3. Roast the green beans for 12 to 15 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
  4. While the beans roast, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  6. Remove the roasted green beans from the oven and immediately transfer them to a serving bowl.
  7. Pour the garlic butter mixture over the hot green beans.
  8. Toss the beans gently to coat, then sprinkle with the grated Parmesan cheese.
  9. Serve immediately as a savory vegetable side.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, substitute half the butter with bacon grease.
  • If you prefer a sweeter note, add 1 teaspoon of honey to the garlic butter glaze.
  • To make this recipe faster, you can sauté the beans instead of roasting; cook them in the skillet for 8-10 minutes until tender.
