Make this easy oven baked salmon recipe for a quick, juicy, and flaky dinner that tastes gourmet but uses simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spoon the garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your fillets.
  6. Remove from the oven. Garnish with fresh lemon slices and chopped parsley, if desired. Serve immediately for a healthy baked salmon dinner.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a teaspoon of brown sugar to the butter mixture to mimic a slight glaze effect.
  • If you prefer a crispier top, place the salmon under the broiler for the last 1 to 2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • This recipe works well for a sheet pan salmon meal; add asparagus or broccoli to the pan during the last 10 minutes of baking time.
