Make restaurant-quality baked salmon easily with this simple honey garlic butter recipe. This sheet pan meal cooks quickly, making it perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound asparagus, trimmed
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Place the trimmed asparagus on one side of the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with 1 teaspoon of olive oil, sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper, and toss to coat. Spread into a single layer.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. Place them on the other side of the baking sheet, leaving space between the fish and the asparagus. Brush the tops of the salmon with the remaining olive oil and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, melted butter, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning to create the glaze.
  5. Spoon the honey garlic butter glaze evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The asparagus should be tender-crisp.
  7. Serve the baked salmon immediately alongside the roasted asparagus.

Notes

  • For crispier salmon skin, you can place the salmon skin-side down on a wire rack set over the baking sheet before glazing and baking.
  • If you prefer a thicker glaze, you can briefly broil the salmon for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  • This recipe works well for meal prep; store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
