Make this rich, smooth garlic sauce in under 10 minutes using only five simple ingredients. It is a versatile sauce perfect for dipping fries, topping chicken, or mixing into pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper into a small food processor or blender.
  2. Process or blend the ingredients until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides as needed.
  3. Taste the sauce and adjust salt or lemon juice if you prefer a stronger flavor.
  4. Transfer the garlic sauce to an airtight container. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve as a dip for breadsticks or vegetables, or drizzle over grilled chicken or pasta.

Notes

  • For a Garlic Parmesan Sauce variation, add 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese before blending.
  • To achieve a consistency similar to Lebanese Toum, substitute the mayonnaise with 1 cup of neutral oil (like canola or sunflower) and slowly drizzle it in while blending continuously until emulsified.
  • This sauce keeps well in the refrigerator for up to one week.
