Make these rich, no-bake Dubai Chocolate Balls at home. This recipe features a creamy filling, a crunchy element, and a smooth chocolate coating for a gourmet, bite-sized indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup digestive biscuits or graham crackers, finely crushed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted pistachios, finely ground
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom (optional, for Middle Eastern flavor)
  • 1 cup dark chocolate (60-70% cacao), chopped
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pistachios, for coating

Instructions

  1. Prepare the base: In a medium bowl, combine the crushed biscuits and ground pistachios. Mix well.
  2. Add the binder: Pour in the melted butter, sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and cardamom (if using). Mix everything until a thick, uniform dough forms.
  3. Chill the dough: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes. This makes the mixture easier to handle.
  4. Shape the balls: Scoop out small portions of the chilled mixture (about 1 tablespoon each) and roll them firmly between your palms to form smooth balls. Place the formed balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Chill again: Return the baking sheet to the refrigerator for another 15 minutes while you prepare the chocolate coating.
  6. Melt the chocolate: Place the chopped dark chocolate and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval, until the chocolate is completely smooth and glossy. Do not overheat.
  7. Coat the balls: Remove the chilled balls from the refrigerator. Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Use a fork to lift the ball out, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
  8. Add crunch: Immediately roll the chocolate-coated ball in the finely chopped pistachios for coating. Place it back on the parchment-lined sheet.
  9. Set the chocolate: Refrigerate the finished Dubai Chocolate Balls for at least 1 hour, or until the chocolate shell is firm.
  10. Serve: Keep chilled until ready to serve your homemade luxury chocolate treats.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, substitute half of the dark chocolate with milk chocolate in the coating.
  • If you want a texture similar to Kunefe, lightly toast a small amount of shredded phyllo dough until golden and use this instead of or mixed with the chopped pistachios for the exterior coating.
  • If the dough feels too soft to roll, add one extra tablespoon of crushed biscuits.
