Make tender, juicy crockpot steak bites with minimal effort. This slow cooker recipe uses simple ingredients to create melt-in-your-mouth beef perfect for a weeknight dinner or meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed sirloin steak into your slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the steak cubes in the slow cooker. Stir gently to coat the meat evenly.
  4. Place the pieces of butter on top of the steak mixture. Do not stir after adding the butter.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 4 to 6 hours, or on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours, until the steak is fork-tender.
  6. Remove the lid and stir everything together before serving.
  7. Serve the juicy steak bites over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can quickly sear the steak cubes in a hot skillet before adding them to the slow cooker. This step is optional for minimal prep.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the steak near the end of cooking and mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water. Stir this slurry into the liquid in the slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 15 minutes until thickened.
  • This recipe works well with sirloin or chuck roast cut into bite-sized pieces.
