The Best Creamy Crockpot Hot Chocolate

Make rich, creamy hot chocolate effortlessly in your slow cooker. This recipe is perfect for serving a crowd during winter gatherings or cozy evenings.

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Pour the sweetened condensed milk into the basin of a 4-quart or larger slow cooker.
  2. Add the chocolate chips to the slow cooker.
  3. Pour in the whole milk and heavy cream.
  4. Stir all ingredients together until the chocolate chips begin to melt.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  7. Reduce the heat setting to KEEP WARM. Serve the hot chocolate directly from the crockpot.

Notes

  • For extra richness, substitute 1 cup of the whole milk with half-and-half.
  • Keep the slow cooker on the KEEP WARM setting for serving at parties.
  • Serve with marshmallows, whipped cream, or a dusting of cinnamon on top.
