Make simple, comforting cranberry brie bites using puff pastry for your next holiday gathering. This recipe is quick to prepare and perfect for serving as a party finger food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14.1 ounces) frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 wheel (8 ounces) brie cheese, rind removed and cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a mini-muffin pan.
  2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Use a 2-inch round cookie cutter to cut out circles from the pastry. You should get about 24 circles per sheet.
  3. Gently press each pastry circle into the cups of the mini-muffin pan.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the cranberry sauce, orange zest, and chopped rosemary together.
  5. Place one small cube of brie cheese into each pastry cup.
  6. Top the brie with about 1/2 teaspoon of the cranberry mixture.
  7. Brush the edges of the pastry lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  8. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  9. Let the bites cool in the pan for 5 minutes before carefully removing them to a wire rack to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • You can prepare these bites up to 24 hours ahead. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat in a 350 degree oven for 5 to 7 minutes until warm.
  • If you prefer, you can substitute crescent roll dough for puff pastry, but the texture will be less flaky.
  • For a different flavor, use homemade cranberry relish instead of store-bought sauce.
