Make this ultimate comfort dessert by combining gooey cinnamon rolls with sweet, tender apples. This easy-to-make delight is perfect for fall gatherings or holiday feasts.
1 package (2 count) refrigerated pre-made pie crusts
1/4 cup caramel sauce (optional, for topping)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9-inch pie plate.
Unroll the pre-made pie crusts and press one crust into the bottom of the prepared pie plate.
Open the can of cinnamon rolls. Cut each roll in half horizontally to create thinner rounds.
On a lightly floured surface, roll each half-roll piece flat until it is thin.
Arrange the flattened cinnamon roll pieces over the bottom crust to cover the base, overlapping slightly if needed.
Pour the entire can of apple pie filling evenly over the cinnamon roll base.
Place the second pre-made pie crust over the apple filling. Crimp the edges to seal the top and bottom crusts together. You can cut a few slits in the top crust for venting.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the top crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
Remove the pie from the oven. While the pie cools slightly (about 10 minutes), warm the reserved cinnamon roll icing and the caramel sauce together in a small bowl.
Drizzle the warm icing and caramel mixture over the top of the hot pie before slicing and serving.
Notes
For an even gooier texture, you can skip the top crust and simply arrange the remaining flattened cinnamon roll pieces over the apple filling, then bake.
Serve this indulgent sweet bake warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent dessert fusion experience.
If you prefer a cobbler style, skip the top crust entirely and bake uncovered.
