Make the comfort food fusion of a cheeseburger inside a crispy egg roll wrapper using this simple baked recipe. This is a great game day cheeseburger bite that skips the deep frying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  2. Cook the ground beef and minced onion in a skillet over medium heat until the beef is fully browned and the onion is soft. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Return the beef mixture to the skillet. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Cook for one minute. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. In a bowl, mix the cooled beef mixture with the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese until combined. This is your filling.
  5. Place one egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with a corner pointing toward you. Brush the edges lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  6. Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling near the bottom corner. Fold the bottom corner up over the filling. Fold in the left and right corners toward the center.
  7. Roll the wrapper tightly upward toward the top corner. Brush the final top corner with egg wash to seal the roll completely.
  8. Place the finished egg roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining filling and wrappers.
  9. Lightly spray the tops of all the egg rolls with cooking spray to help them crisp up.
  10. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wrappers are golden brown and crispy. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispy baked egg roll wrappers, you can lightly brush the tops with melted butter instead of using cooking spray.
  • If you prefer a tangier flavor, add 1 tablespoon of finely chopped dill pickle relish to the meat mixture before filling the wrappers.
  • The secret sauce for dipping: Mix 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 1 tablespoon yellow mustard, and 1 teaspoon pickle relish.
