Make simple, cheesy jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon. You can cook these in the oven, on the grill, or in an air fryer. This recipe is great for game days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large jalapeños
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 12 slices bacon, halved

Instructions

  1. Prepare the jalapeños: Cut each jalapeño in half lengthwise. Remove the seeds and white membranes to reduce the heat.
  2. Make the filling: In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder until combined.
  3. Fill the peppers: Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half.
  4. Wrap with bacon: Wrap one half-slice of bacon around each filled jalapeño half, securing it with a toothpick if needed.
  5. Cook the poppers: Choose your method: Oven (bake at 400°F for 20-25 minutes), Grill (medium heat, turning often until bacon is crisp), or Air Fryer (375°F for 10-12 minutes).
  6. Serve immediately once the bacon is crisp and the cheese is melted.

Notes

  • For less heat, remove all seeds and white pith from the jalapeños.
  • You can prepare these ahead of time and refrigerate them for up to 24 hours before cooking.
  • If baking, place poppers on a wire rack set over a baking sheet for crispier bacon.
