Make a fun, comforting mashup snack: classic cheeseburger filling wrapped in crispy egg roll wrappers and cooked perfectly in your air fryer. Serve with a simple homemade fry sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Cooking spray (high heat oil recommended)
  • For the Sauce: 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon pickle relish

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart. Drain off any excess grease completely.
  2. Stir the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the cooked beef. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix the cooled beef filling with the shredded cheese in a bowl.
  4. Prepare the sauce: Whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish in a small bowl. Set aside.
  5. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with a corner pointing toward you (diamond shape). Brush the edges lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  6. Place about 2 tablespoons of the beef and cheese mixture near the bottom corner.
  7. Fold the bottom corner up over the filling. Fold in the left and right corners toward the center.
  8. Roll the wrapper tightly upward toward the top corner. Brush the final top corner with egg wash to seal it shut. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  9. Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly spray the assembled egg rolls with cooking spray.
  10. Place the egg rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch. You will need to cook in batches.
  11. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wrappers are golden brown and crispy.
  12. Serve immediately with the secret fry sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For the best seal, use a light coat of egg wash on all edges of the wrapper before folding.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches to guarantee crispiness on all sides.
  • If you prefer a tangier sauce, add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the fry sauce mixture.
